Bunk Room #1

We had just had a great visit from our daughter’s and their families. We had been talking about taking half of our storage space and making a bunk room out of it. So now was the time. With us living on the lake... We have realized everyone enjoys coming during the summer...and we loved it!! So we jumped in.

We began by purchasing some double v groove boards and some rough cut  1x12 boards. The side walls in the double v groove were pretty straight forward. The wall we had to build between the existing storage and new bunk room..was a bit more tedious. 😳

These 1x12 boards were heavy!! But then I decided..oh let’s do the heavy boards on the ceiling 🤦‍♀️. This was hard work.

But it turned out beautiful!!

I had been dreaming of a diamond design floor for years. Now was my opportunity. So, I stained the floors waiting a full day before laying down my diamond pattern. I painted on the diamond pattern with white wax. I think it worked out really good. I had already whitewashed all the walls with the white wax ....so why not?🤷🏼‍♀️ I allowed the floors to dry for 24 hours before we sealed it with poly.

Found this triple bunk bed on Wayfair. What a find!!  Would you look at those floors!! ♥️

I can’t wait to share the finished project with y’all!!
